Shuttle Bus on us
A shuttle bus will leave the Hyatt & Griya Santrian Hotels in Sanur at 2.15pm and return 11.30pm.
We encourage you to use it to avoid traffic jams on the narrow road into the house. Please click on 'shuttle' below if you want to book your spot on the bus.
Contact the wedding planner Sapphira on the day via WhatsApp for any assistance with the shuttle bus.

Bali Tips
(for first-timers)
Flights
-
Book flights & accommodation early so you get better prices. Jetstar & AirAsia are best to fly with & often have special deals if you sign up to email offers. Can be delays with cheaper flights so give yourself enough time.
-
See more info below about recommendations and travelling with kids, e.g. with Jetstar you can take bulky baby items for free.
Passport & Visa/Entry info
-
Ensure passport has 6 months validity on it & isn't torn.
-
Kids & babies require passport
-
New VISA & ENTRY requirements & e-VISA / e-Arrival options allows completion of forms prior to arrival and use of auto e-gates to save queuing at airport. See other info below or your Airlines travel info.
-
For VISA requirements see - https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/application_voa
-
For other ENTRY requirements (health & customs) complete Arrival Card here (once complete will take you to VISA form also) - https://allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id/
-
See https://www.welcomebacktobali.com/blog/latest-updates/the-new-all-indonesia-arrival-card for more info or Jetstar & Virgin's travel advice & entry requirements:
Arriving at Ngura Rai Airport & Currency
-
Exchange cash for Rupiah (IDR) at Perth airport TravelEx before arriving for transport from airport, VISA on Arrival etc.
-
If not paying for VISA online as per above or using e-gates, require $50 AUD (IDR 500,000) per person.
-
Arriving after 11pm can be difficult to get a GoCar (Uber) transport at the airport, so grab a Bluebird Taxi or organise a driver. About IDR 500,000 should cover the fare but check.
Travel insurance
-
Is recommended.
Money Changer
-
Use authorised money changers. In Sanur we use the PT. Dirgahayu Valuta Prima Money Changer - Jalan Danau Tamblingan no. 66, Sanur (opposite the Icon Mall).
Transport
-
Download the GoJek App, & using GoCars to travel everywhere. It's like Uber, can pay cash or link your card. Otherwise grab a driver or bluebird taxi.
-
Don't recommend scooters. There's been a few accidents lately
-
Traffic can be congested. If planning a day out, go to one location & walk around or grab GoCars to nearby destinations, otherwise you may be sitting in traffic all day long.
Water and food
-
Don't drink tap water - it's not filtered & you will get bad Bali belly. Use bottled/filtered water to drink & brush your teeth etc.
-
Be wary of any street food. Might get Bali belly otherwise! Food at hotels an restaurants is safe.
-
Take probiotics whilst here & grab some Travelan tablets to prevent Bali belly. If you do get it, grab some tablets with imodium from the chemist. Consult your doc if unsure.
Phone networks and communications
-
Most businesses use WhatsApp to communicate & make bookings, so download the App. Australian providers offer $5 or $10 roaming for data & some calls.
Locals
-
Bali's economy is built on tourism. Local shopkeepers, transport & other merchants might ask you for business, in which case you can politely say no if not interested. Majority of locals are super friendly & mean no harm! Tipping is welcomed!

Baby tips
(traveling with babies)
-
Jetstar allows parents flying with babies to check in any of the following item for free: Porta cot, Pram, High chair and/or car seat. Flying with AirAsia you can only take a pram on for free. Batik air allows one extra piece.
-
It’s not law in Bali for babies or children to travel in car seats, but some private drivers may have them on request if you don’t bring one. Alternatively hire one from a one of the many baby equipment hire stores now in Bali.
-
Pack baby essentials. Bring enough nappies, wipes, formula and baby food. Brands and availability can vary.
-
Boil bottled water for drinking or making formula. Bottles should be washed with boiled water and then sterilized. UV sterilizers can be packed or hired.
-
The Sanur beach path is perfect for strollers but bring a carrier for the main road where foot paths can be busy, bumpy and holey.
-
Baby sitters can be hired through your accommodation and cost between $6-$10 an hour.
-
If staying in a villa with a pool you can request for a temporary pool fence, if they can’t provide you can hire from one of the places above.

Sanur & Ketewel
Places to stay + some of our fave things
We suggest staying in Sanur in a hotel/villa along the beach. 4 & 5 star hotels will have good facilities & most have nanny options. Budget hotels range from from $50 a night but you get what you pay for so do some research. Most are tidy, have air-con and pool but basic.
Ketewel is where the wedding and recovery day will be held, 20-30 mins n-e of Sanur. There are some villas available, but not much to do - only villas where you will need transport every day to go into Sanur or elsewhere - up to Ubud (45mins-1hr).
Transport will be provided to & from the wedding from Sanur.
Sanur
Sanur & this region is our island home away from home. It's more relaxed than Seminyak or Canggu, with a beautiful coastline to take a walk or swim, or find a spot to have a bintang, cocktail, or read a book.
Here's some places to stay, eat, drink & pamper in Sanur:
Hotels/Villas
Use tripadvisor.com, bookings.com, airbnb.com or the hotel direct to book (recommended for family bookings requiring joining rooms/extra beds etc).

-
Arthotel

-
Nusa Lembongan (chilled out island 30 mins off of the coast of Sanur)

Seminyak (great shopping, restaurants, bar & villas)

Can be a good idea to grab duty free from the airport on the way through to Bali
New requirements to enter Bali
🏝️Visa on Arrival (VOA):
NEW website and SIMPLE step process!
Using the NEW link below, simply choose your Visa type - B1 - then use your phone camera to scan the bottom of your passport.
It will auto fill your details.
Carefully cross check them all and tick each box below if correct.
Enter your accommodation name/address and then choose to either pay online or on arrival.
That’s it! NO uploading documents 🙌🏻
You can still pay for your Visa on arrival when you land in Denpasar OR apply for an electronic Visa prior to travelling.
BOTH cost the SAME amount - IDR500,000 per person for a 30 day stay (B1 Tourist Visa)
For e-VOA there is only ONE official Government website 👇🏼
You can then skip the payment and immigration queues and use the e-Gates to self scan yourself through Immigration.
*Additional FAQs -
👉🏼All travellers aged 6 years and older can use the e-Gates
👉🏼If flying into Bali, choose Bandara Internasional Ngurah Rai airport.
👉🏼For City, choose Kota Denpasar and it will autofill province to Bali.
👉🏼 You can extend a B1 Visa for an additional 30 days online.
👉🏼Recommend to apply a week before departure. Once issued it is valid for 90 days to enter.
👉🏼It’s recommended to use a phone/tablet as you need a camera.
Browser/engine can also matter if getting errors, try a different one.
👉🏼No need to print. Just pop your passport in the e-Gate as instructed and your e-VOA is linked. If you’re paying on arrival head to the first lot of counters BEFORE the e-Gates.
👉🏼It appears you can no longer do batch applications for multiple travellers. However it took all of a few minutes for one.
👉🏼Unlike previous e-VOA’s your photo is no longer shown on the document.
👉🏼Travellers under under 6 years of age CAN obtain an e-VOA but need to be processed manually at Immigration. Queue together as a group and they will be assisted by officers while you scan through.
👉🏼Not all foreign passports holders are eligible for VOA. You can check the list here.
https://kemlu.go.id/london/en/news/18631/visa-on-arrival-voa-for-foreign-travellers
👉🏼Many other third party or agents will come up when you search the internet, they are not necessarily scams but will charge up to 3 times as a processing fee. Your Visa is still issued and valid in most cases but if in doubt - contact them and your bank to dispute/get a refund.
🏝️ELECTRONIC CUSTOMS DECLARATION (ECD):
is a separate requirement and different website with NO cost. Obtain 1-72 hours prior to departure.
🏝️TOURISM LEVY:
is also separate and is 150,000IDR per passenger. Obtain up to 60 days prior to departure but recommend doing the same time as your ECD Incase plans change.
Can also be paid at the airport as you come around the last corner before drivers on the left hand side.
https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id
🏝️NEW HEALTH DECLARATION:
entry requirement for Indonesia from 29 August 2024 to prevent the transmission of Mpox into Indonesia.
Health Declarations should only be filled in just before departing to Indonesia, OR no more than 3 day prior to your flight to Indonesia. You will need your seat number, so you may need to fill this in at the airport.
